On the Jewish Emigration from Trieste to Eretz Israel between the Two World Wars

This article intends briefly to outline the role that the city of Trieste, in the 1920s and ’30s, constituted as a fundamental point of reference of the alihay, for access to Palestine of Zionist Jewish refugees – mainly from the center and east of Europe – through the “Jewish Pro-Emigrant Committee”, whose work led to the salvation of about 150,000 people and represented a concrete, positive response, practiced by European Jews, to oppose the Nazi-facist attempt to exterminate them.
